Rules for Judging Professional Fine Art
 
Arts on the Square   2 Day Show    May 29th & 30th, 2010
 
All Art will be required to be original, designed, executed, and signed by the participating artist to be considered for cash prizes and ribbons. Person submitting an entry for prize has to be present and show own original work.
 
Artist Proxy that show or sell work will not be eligible for prizes. No prize for guilds, clubs, or vocational schools
 
ONE AWARD TO CONTESTANT NO MATTER IF THEY HAVE ENTERED MORE THAN ONE CATEGORY. ONLY ONE MONEY PRIZE TO A PERSON.           
 
Best of show gets BEST OF SHOW PRIZE ONLY AND NO OTHER PRIZE WILL BE AWARDED.
 
If the category does not have enough entries, the JUDGE may not present an award. The JUDGE has the right to decide. 
 
Prizes for Art only.
 
Judging will begin at 10:00 a.m. Pieces not in place by 9 a.m. will not be judged. When judging is finished the judge places ribbons on the panel of the winner.

The year is a 2 DAY SHOW. Artist you are welcome to come back for the second day free of charge but you are not required.

Deadlines for entry forms plus fee is Friday May 18, 2010  
 NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED
 
SECURITY
Each individual assumes responsibility for his/her exhibit. We are not responsible for loss or damage.
 
SALES
No sales commission is charged. All proceeds and contracts are between the artist and the buyer.
 
RULES
1. Any entry which placed in a previous Hobart Arts and Crafts Festival is not eligible for entry in the 2010 Art Festival.
2. In all divisions it shall be the judge's prerogative not to award all the above prizes if, in his/her opinion, a category does not contain sufficient entries or meet his/her criteria.
3. To provide easier access for visitors to the show, please park your vehicle on the north or east side of the square after unloading exhibits.
4.Acrylics on canvas will be judged with oils. Acrylics on paper will be judged with watercolor.
5. Each entry must be clearly marked as to the type of medium. Each entry MUST include selling price or not for sale sign, and should be properly framed and wired for hanging (if applicable). Framing is not required for Junior Division entries.
6. Class work is eligible for entry in Junior Divisions.
7. Panels/Spaces will be assigned on first come, first served basis. Artist will furnish hooks. (1/8 inch).
 
ENTRIES
1. Exhibits must be in place by 9:00 a.m. and remain until 4:00 p.m. The second day is optional
2. Check-in table will be open at 8:00 a.m.
3.The Festival Committee reserves the right to disqualify any item(s).
4. There will be no rain date. In case of rain, the show will be held in the Women's Exhibit Building. It will be up to the exhibitors whether or not to set up.
